The whole area is famous for its numerous thermal springs, which are suitable for relaxation as well as for the treatment of many metabolic diseases. It offers visitors a wide range of spa facilities including saunas, swimming pools and wellness centres.
The town has a rich history dating back to the early Middle Ages. The first mention of the site dates back to the late 8th century in connection with the Frankish monarch Charlemagne. Bad Lippspringe combines architectural elements of modernity and tradition, combining contemporary architecture with the timeless charm of the spa resort's promenades and the charm of its historical monuments. The most famous is the ruins of Burg Lippspringe, dating back to the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Sections of the 14th-century town walls have also been preserved. Several large parks invite for relaxing walks.
